Grassley A Prominent Lawmaker
With Senator Grassley’s 99 county tour stopping through this week, I would like to take the opportunity to advocate for policies to benefit our state with one of the most powerful people in the Senate.
Every working American already knows that the American tax code is burdensome, yet little has been done in Washington to simplify the system, let alone to lower rates to competitive levels. American businesses pay the highest corporate tax rates in the world and some businesses like energy companies pay higher tax rates than others of the same size. A pro-growth tax policy will lead to growth in the American economy through saved cost in compliance and through increased investment in American businesses. Further, this policy can ensure the growth of energy producers, which will lead to greater energy independence, providing stability to consumers and businesses alike.
Iowans should use our unique ability to affect one of the most prominent policymakers in Washington to ensure that American businesses are able to compete in a globalized economy. Not only will Iowans be able to talk to our next president, we will also be able to ensure that our senators are advocates for an economy looking into the 21stcentury.
