Big seventh inning lifts Rams to win

Glenwood’s Alyssa Liddick had two hits and drove in two runs in the Rams’ 15-10 game two win over Harlan in last week’s Hawkeye 10 Conference double-header sweep.
Jayden Burke’s single in the bottom of the seventh lifted Stanton to a 7-6 win over Fremont-Mills in Corner Conference baseball at Anderson Park in Stanton Friday.
Burke was 2-for-3 on the night with two walks and runs driven in.
Jacob Martin added two hits and drove two runs.
Gavin Ford picked up the win on the hill, allowing 10 hits and five earned runs while striking out nine.
Landon Baker took the loss for the Knights after allowing two this and four runs in 2 1/3 innings. He also smacked two hits and drove in a run.
Rhett Lemonds and Sam Sanchez had three hits each.
Fremont-Mills 21,
Essex 4
Gavin Crom went 4-for-4 and drove in two runs and Landon Morse had three hits and drove in four runs for Fremont-Mills in a 21-4 victory over Essex in Corner Conference baseball Thursday.
The Knights led 5-0 after an inning and blew the game open with a 15-run second in on their way to the win.
Fremont-Mills finished with 16 hits.
Carter Rycroft and Sam Sanchez had two hits and two RBIs each.
Colin Morse picked up the win on the hill after not allowing a hit, walking one and striking out four.
Rhys Chambers singled and drove in two runs for Essex. Ben King took the loss allowing six hits and five earned runs.
Southwest Valley 11,
Fremont-Mills 0
Ethan Johnson and Casey Jones combined to allow three hits and strikeout six in an 11-0 shutout of Fremont-Mills in non-conference baseball last Wednesday.
Jones was credited with the win after starting and tossing the first three innings.
Brody Crozier, Walker Bissell, Wyatt Shires and Jones had two hits each to lead the Timberwolves. Shires drove in three runs and Bissell added two RBIs.
Garrett Johnson took the loss on the mound after giving up 11 hit and nine earned runs in 3 1/3 innings.
