Rams well represented on All-Hawkeye 10 soccer teams
The Glenwood girls and boys soccer teams placed five on the All-Hawkeye 10 Conference soccer team released last week.
In a league-wide vote of coaches, the Glenwood girls’ Sarah Homan, Sara Gutschenritter and Danni Finn were tabbed for the first team. Ross Van Slyke and Andy Staiert were named to the first team on the boys side.
Homan, a senior forward, led the Rams with 24 goals and shared the team lead with seven assists this season. Gutschenritter was the Rams’ captain, scoring eight goals this season. Finn scored 10 goals and dished up seven assists.
Van Slyke finished the season with just one goal but his all-around play in the Rams’ midfield earned him a spot on the first team. Staiert chipped in three goals while being a defensive stalwart for the Rams.
Dani Anderson, Rileigh Spahn and Ana Frazee were named to the girls second team while Connor Weis and Brett Maxwell were selected as second teamers.
Alicia Leu and Conrad Millar both were selected as honorable mention.
