Parade, Coronation To Highlight Glenwood Homecoming
More than a dozen class reunions, a Friday afternoon parade and Saturday night coronation highlight the 2016 Glenwood Homecoming celebration.
Glenwood band parents will be hosting the 2016 homecoming parade on Friday, Sept. 23, at 1:30 p.m. The theme of this year’s parade is “Welcome to the Jungle.”
All participants need to be registered. This can be done by contacting Lori McGoldrick at 527-9973 or e-mailing glenwoodhomecomingparade@gmail.com. Registration will be at the American Legion Hall on Thursday night, Sept. 22, from 6-8 p.m. and Friday morning, Sept. 23, from 8-10 a.m. Floats can be registered or parade numbers can be picked up at one of these times.
Reserved parking passes for the handicap citizens will be available at the American Legion Hall on Thursday, Sept. 22, from 6-8 p.m. A handicap placard will be needed to receive the parking pass. One pass will be given per placard.
There is no parking on Vine Street going north and First Street going east from the square. These streets are used for parade line up. All vehicles will be towed from line up areas. For additional parade information, call Larry Lincoln at 712-310-1212.
Friday night’s football game at Ram Memorial Field begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night’s coronation will begin at 8 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.
