Rams make quick work of Shenandoah in 75-26 win

The Glenwood boys basketball team took little time dispatching Shenandoah in a Hawkeye 10 Conference boys road game Friday.

The No. 3 ranked Rams (13-1 overall, in the conference) jumped out to a 27-7 lead and cruised to a 75-26 victory. The win is the Rams ninth this season by 20 or more points.
“This was a good team win,” Glenwood coach Curt Schulte said. “We played well in all phases and 11 of 15 players scored.”

Christian Stanislav led a balanced scoring attack with 16 points. Nate Mohr added 14 and Nate Kennedy 10.

Dustin Lembrick led Shenandoah with eight points.

Glenwood opened the game on a 14-2 run and cruised to a 87-48 victory over Red Oak in Hawkeye 10 Conference volleyball last Tuesday.

“The boys got off to a quick start and led after the first quarter 22-7 and never looked back,” said Glenwood coach Curt Schulte. “Our defense was stellar tonight and offensively,  we shot over 50 percent from the field.  Everyone played a huge role in the win with 12 of our 15 players scoring.”

Keyed by its full court pressure, the Rams (12-1 overall, 6-1 in the conference) jumped out to an early 22-7 lead at the end of the quarter then ballooned that lead to 29-9 with nearly six minutes to go in the first half on Christian Stanislav’s three pointer.

Glenwood took a 46-16 lead into halftime and saw all 13 players on its roster see the court in the second half with 12 scoring at least one point.

Stanislav paced the Rams with 17 points. Nate Mohr added 14 and Zach Carr chipped in 11 off the bench.

Red Oak was led by Isaac Birt’s 12 points.
