Rams’ Von Essen named to Hawkeye 10 first team

Glenwood senior Blake Von Essen was named to the first team on the All-Hawkeye 10 Conference boys soccer team.

The team, released last week, was selected by a vote of conference coaches.

Von Essen was tabbed as a unanimous first team defender on the team.

Jordan Renshaw and John Palmer also earned all-conference honors for Glenwood. Renshaw was named to the second team after leading the Rams in assists (four) and scoring six goals. Palmer scored a team-high eight goals and recorded two assists this season.

Council Bluffs Lewis Central and Harlan led the way with four first team nods each.

Atlantic: Brady Dickerson. Creston: Evan Jacobsen. Denison: Anderson Martinez, Efren Magana, Martin Elizzararaz and Kevin Turcios. Glenwood: Jordan Renshaw. Harlan: Michael Heithoff and Hunter Manz. Kuemper Catholic: Victor Ceballos. Council Bluffs Lewis Central: Connor Lancial, Connor Williams and Luis Espino. Council Bluffs St. Albert: Jake Hubbard and Connor Lenihan.
