New Lincoln Farm & Home store shines bright at I-29/H-34 interchange

The new Lincoln Farm & Home BP store is up and running.

Local civic leaders and economic development officials joined the Lincoln family in officially opening their new store at 18880 Hyland Ave.  during an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday, May 8.

“It’s been kind of a long time in the planning process, but we’re finally open out here,” Nate Lincoln said. “We’re excited to be open.”

Flanked by his parents, Mark and Nancy, Lincoln thanked local contractors and businesses that helped make the new store possible. In addition to BP fueling stations, the 5,500 square-foot store features a variety of food items.

“We’ve got Chester’s Chicken and we’ve also got pizza, subs, wraps, salads, fruits, vegetables and bakery,” Lincoln noted.

Facing Highway 34 to the south, the new store has a modern look to it and replaces the former station that’s stood for decades near the Interstate 29/ Highway 34 interchange.

Mills County Economic Development Director Rick Allely praised the Lincolns for their investment in the Glenwood and Mills County community and said their new store will be a boost for development on the I-29 / Highway 34 business corridor.

“The new Lincoln BP Farm & Home is a great example of a local family- owned business making a significant investment in the future of their company as well as our county,” Allely said. “I’ve had the privilege to work with the Lincolns and know they put their hearts into everything they do, and they do it right.

“We greatly appreciate their commitment to Mills County and all of southwest Iowa.”

The Lincoln family began their fuel delivery tank wagon service in January 1977 and purchased their first Amoco store in Glenwood in 1983. They later purchased a store in Red Oak and eventually the I-29 / Highway 34 location. All three of the stores operate as BP retailers.
