M. Jeanette Parker, 59, Red Oak
M. Jeanette (Wells) Parker, 59, of Red Oak, formerly of Glenwood, and Lincoln, Neb., died on Dec. 28, 2008, in Omaha. A visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood. The funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 3 at 2 p.m. at the mortuary. Pastor Mike Stevens will officiate. Burial will be in North Grove Cemetery in Hastings.
Mrs. Parker was born March 8, 1949, in Malvern, to James Allen Wells, Sr. and Mildred Marie (Brown) Wells. She was united in marriage to Richard Charles Meinders on Aug. 25, 1967, in Glenwood. To this union, Richard “Rick” Lee Meinders was born. Following her husband’s death, she later married Johnnie Orval Parker on Nov. 22, 1969, in Glenwood, and to this union their daughter Jill Marie Parker was born.
Mrs. Parker loved gardening and cooking. Some of her other interests included reading, doing crafts and taking care of her pets. Her greatest love was her children, grandchildren and family. She had a kind and loving heart.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and husbands, Richard and Johnnie. She is survived by her children, Richard “Rick” Lee Meinders (Parker) of Red Oak; Jill Marie (Parker) and husband Dusty Sell of Emerson; two grandchildren; brothers, James Allen Wells of Glenwood; Thomas Edward Wells of Hastings; David Eugene Wells of Denver, Colo.; George Sherman Wells of California; sisters, June Ann Maddocks of Glenwood; Beatrice Kay Ahrens of Hastings; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and a host of friends.
A memorial fund has been established.
