Knights, Wolverines earn ‘elite’ All-Corner Conference nods

Fremont-Mills’ Nate Laughlin and East Mills’ Dylan Schroeder and Trevor Glockel were named “Elite” first team members on the All-Corner Conference baseball team.

Sidney’s Sergio Rodriguez and Stanton’s Donnie Weis and Tyler Peterson joined Laughlin, Schroeder and Glockel as elite team members. Also named to the first team were Stanton’s Drake Johnson and Keygan Day, Sidney’s Cameron Whitehead, East Mills’ Nic Duysen and Fremont-Mills’ Oscar Lupercio and Dylan Chambers.

Laughlin, a senior infielder, led the Knights in hitting with a .424 batting average. He also smacked seven doubles, drove in 15 runs and stole 33 bases.

Schroeder drove in 21 runs for East Mills and hit a team-best .458. The senior added 30 stolen bases and two home runs while going 2-3 on the mound.

Glockel played multiple positions for the Wolverines while hitting .371 with 16 RBIs.

Fremont-Mills’ Jacob Jenkerson and Andrew Hontz along with East Mills’ Jack Anderson and Jackson Wray were named to the second team.

The teams are selected by a vote of league coaches.
