Home For The Holidays

An assortment of activities are planned for Glenwood’s annual “Home for the Holidays”  celebration Dec. 4, 5, 6  and 7.

Festivities kick off Thursday evening with a chamber after hours, tree-lighting ceremony and sing-along on Town Square and conclude Sunday evening with “Soup and Song” at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. In between, Glenwood-area residents will have numerous holiday-related activities to enjoy.

Thursday, Dec. 4

4:30 p.m. - Chamber After Hours with cocoa and cookies, co-sponsored by Black Hills Energy at the Glenwood Area Chamber of Commerce office, 5 N. Vine Street, Glenwood

5:15 p.m. - Caroling and tree- lighting ceremony on the county courthouse lawn

5:30 p.m. - Santa arrives on a fire truck.

5:30-6:30 p.m. - Visit Santa at City Hall.

5-8 p.m. - Subtle Hints GAL-a at 16 N. Walnut St.

Friday, Dec. 5

4-9 p.m. - Scanlan Windows to the World open house at Bella Terre Vineyard and Reception Hall.

7 p.m.-close - Ugly Sweater Party and Christmas Karaoke, at Vine St. Cellars.

Saturday, Dec. 6

9 a.m.-noon - Holiday boutique by area Vendors, at the Glenwood American Legion, 104 North Vine St.

All day - Festival of Trees celebration in Malvern.

10 am-6 p.m. - Scanlan Windows to the World open house at Bella Terre Vineyard & Reception Hall.

5:30-7:30 p.m. - Winter Carnival Family Fun (crafts, games)  at Sky High Family Fun Center, 109 S. Walnut St.

Sunday, Dec. 7

12 p.m. -5 p.m. - Scanlan Windows to the World open house at Bella Terre Vineyard and Reception Hall.

2 p.m. - USAF Heartland of America Band presents “Sounds of the Season” at the Glenwood Community High School Auditorium.

5-7 p.m. - Soup & Song at Kaufman Hall, Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 24116 Marian Ave.
