Glenwood sweeps Atlantic in volleyball

The Glenwood volleyball team got eight kills from Kali Mumm and seven from Halie Darrow in a 25-15, 25-18, 25-15 sweep of Atlantic in Hawkeye 10 Conference volleyball Thursday.

The Rams (5-4, 1-0 in the conference) racked up 32 kills in the win.

Jana King recorded 16 set assists and Myranda Starner 11. Ram liberio Olivia Scarborough led the defense with 17 digs.

The Glenwood volleyball team finished 2-4 against stiff competition at the Harlan Invitational Aug. 30.

The Rams (4-4) defeated East Sac County 11-21, 21-19, 15-10 and Underwood 17-21, 21-15, 15-12 and lost a rematch to Underwood 21-18, 21-17, Red Oak 21-13, 21-13, Indianola 21-13, 14-21, 12-15 and Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln 21-18, 11-21, 10-15.

In the six games, Courtney Magnussen paced Glenwood with 21 kills. Kaycee Clark added 20 kills and Halie Darrow 17.

Jana King dished up a team-high 53 assists and Myranda Starner added 34.
