Fatal Accident In Mills County

HASTINGS - A 46-year-old Emerson man died in a crash Friday afternoon, Sept. 10, on U.S. Highway 34 near Hastings.
Investigators from the Iowa State Patrol say Bryce Jipsen was traveling eastbound around 2:15 p.m. in a 1990 Oldsmobile Regency when his vehicle crossed the center line for an unknown reason and hit a westbound semi truck driven by Wilbert Burmeister, 65, of Glenwood.
Jipsen was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Burmeister was not injured.
The Iowa State Patrol and Mills County Sheriff’s Office investigated the accident.
