Child sexual abuse gets Persia man 3 life sentences for Persia, Iowa man

A 43-year-old Persia , Iowa, man was sentenced to serve three life sentences without the possibility of parole on Monday, less than a month after being found guilty by a Mills County jury  of sexual abuse of a child.

Chad Leroy Wilson was found guilty by a jury on March 1 of one count of third-degree sexual abuse (second offense), two counts of lascivious acts with a child (second offense) and two counts of indecent contact with a minor. The sexual abuse and lascivious acts with a child charges are Class A felonies, while the indecent contact with a child charges are aggravated misdemeanors.

Wilson was arrested in July 2016. He was sentenced in Mills County District Court Monday by Judge James Heckerman.

In a written statement released Monday, Mills County Attorney Naeda Elliott extended her appreciation to the Mills County Sheriff’s Office, Area Prosecution Division of the Iowa Attorney General’s Office, Project Harmony and the Phoenix House “for their help and dedication to bring justice to the victim of this atrocity.”
