    Charles M. Johnson, age 73, of Council Bluffs, passed away September 22, 2010, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.
    Charlie was born Jan. 21, 1937, in Pacific Junction to the late Ben and Anna (Miller) Johnson. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963 and the Iowa National Guard from 1967-1969. Charlie was a foreman for MidAmerican Energy for 18 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the South Omaha American Legion Post 331 and a 25-year member of the post’s honor guard.
    Charlie was preceded in death by his brother, Millard Johnson; and half-brother, Ben Johnson, Jr. He is survived by his brother, John Johnson; special friend and companion, Gwynn Nugent, both of Council Bluffs; nieces and nephews.
    Visitation with the family, was Sunday, Sept. 26, at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 27 at the mortuary with Rev. Gene Springer, Pastor of Open Door Baptist Church officiating. Interment in Lewis Township Cemetery with military rites tendered by South Omaha American Legion Post 331. A lunch followed at Open Door Baptist Church. Memorials are suggested to South Omaha American Legion Post 331.
