Vivian C. Harrington, 88, Glenwood

December 8, 1922  - March 3, 2011

    Vivian Cleone (Watts) Harrington, 88, of Glenwood, entered into eternal rest March 3, 2011, in Council Bluffs.
    Funeral services were held Monday, March 7, 2011, at First Christian Church in Glenwood with interment in the Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church.
    She was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Burchard, Neb., to Abbie Ray and Fern Mildred (Woodward) Watts. Vivian attended school in Glenwood then moved to Tabor, graduating with the Class of 1940. She was united in marriage to Markie Harrington May 15, 1940. To this union one son, Larry was born.
    Vivian was a faithful member of the First Christian Church and Friendship Circle in Glenwood. She enjoyed being a homemaker, but also assisted Markie in his contracting business. Vivian also worked at Glenwood Florist and Lee’s Five and Ten. Her interests included sewing, crocheting and traveling with Markie. They enjoyed camping and wintered in Arizona and Texas for many years. She was a wonderful cook and dearly loved being with her family, as they meant everything to her.
    Preceding Vivian in death were her parents, husband, Markie in December of 2010; sister, Auburn Bird and brother, Keith Watts. She is survived by her son, Larry and wife Elaine Harrington of Glenwood; grandchildren, Chad Harrington of Council Bluffs; Jason and wife Karen Harrington of Lincoln, Neb.; DeEtte and husband Brent VonEssen of Glenwood; great-grandchildren, Garrett, Allison, Corbin, Bailey, Carter, Blake and Grant; sister, Iona Bird of Council Bluffs; brother, Orval Watts of Denver, Colo.; nieces, nephews, extended relatives and a host of friends.
