Vera Cathaleen Gillen, 96, of Norwalk, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at the Norwalk Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Fred Pilecki officiating. Burial was in the Hastings Cemetery.
Vera was born Nov. 7, 1914, near Kellerton, the daughter of Alva and Ethie Hartley. She is survived by her son Gary Gillen of Des Moines; two grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
