Treasurer's Office Employee Dismissed

    Auto department deputy Tammy Gammon has been terminated as an employee at the Mills County Treasurer’s Office, Mills County Attorney Eric Hansen confirmed Friday.
    Hansen said Gammon was notified in writing of her dismissal.
    Until last week, Gammon had been on paid administrative leave as the focus of an  investigation of “discrepancies” uncovered at the treasurer’s office.
    Hansen said he could not discuss the alleged discrepancies nor specifics of the ongoing  investigation. Hansen said the Department of Criminal Investigation and Iowa State Auditor’s Office are both assisting with the investigation. He was uncertain when the investigation would be completed.
    Gammon had been employed in the treasurer’s office since January 2003.
