Robert Eugene Harris, Sr., 70, Pacific Junction

    Robert Eugene Harris, Sr., 70, of Pacific Junction died Aug. 5, 2009, at his home in Pacific Junction. Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood. Pastor Mike Stevens officiated. Interment was in Waubonsie Cemetery, South of Glenwood.

    He was born June 14, 1939, in Iowa City, to William and Sylvia (Kizzier) Harris.  He was employed with Harrah’s Casino for many years in the environmental service department. He thoroughly enjoyed all of the people he met during this time. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

    Preceding Mr. Harris in death were his parents; son, Robert E. Harris, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Marsha Harris; and brother, Jack Harris. He is survived by Velda Harris of Pacific Junction; children, Joseph; and Jacqueline Harris of Omaha; Ricky and Pamela Harris of Memphis, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, William Harris, Jr.; extended relatives and a host of friends.

    A memorial fund has been established.
