Robert E. Oliphant, 77, Clear Lake

Robert Eugene Oliphant, 77, of Clear Lake, passed away Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, at his home. A celebration of his life was held Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with Pastor Scott Wilson of the Christian Church officiating. Military honors were provided by the Clear Lake V.F.W. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Hospice of North Iowa.
    Bob was born July 3, 1934, to John Howard and Lila Ruth Oliphant. He is survived by three daughters Jaqueline Petersen, Michelle McLaughlin and Karin Hartnett, all of Clear Lake; step-daughter Shauna Oliphant of Dallas, Texas; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Everett Oliphant of Dixon, Ky., Paul R. Oliphant of Lenox, John J. Oliphant of Santa Clara, Calif. and Dale L. Oliphant of Pacific Junction.
