Randolph Water Woes

If the frigid temperatures aren’t bad enough, Randolph residents learned Monday they’d be without water service for at least a day or two.

An initial report Monday morning indicated a stuck valve had drained the Randolph water tower. Later in the day, however, repair crews determined the town’s main water line had a rupture.

Equipment and crews were being rounded up to dig around the line and repair the break.

It was unclear how long the community would be without its water supply, but Randolph officials said once repairs are made, it could take up to 36 hours before normal water pressure is restored.

Once repairs are made, Randolph residents will be advised to boil their water until testing has determined it’s safe to drink.
