Rams drop first dual of season

Glenwood matched Plattsmouth, Neb. with seven wins but the home Blue Devils won the bonus points with six pins to hand the Rams their first wrestling dual loss of the season Thursday.

The dual was tied 33-33 heading into the final match of the night at 120 pounds when Plattsmouth’s Hunter Smith pinned the Rams’ Ryker Case with six seconds to go in the final round.

Glenwood coach Brad Asche said his team wrestled well with a juggled lineup in their final dual before Christmas break but just couldn’t quite get the job done.
“We wrestled short-handed with some kids out of the lineup, we had to bump the lineup around to fill spots,” Asche said. “We did also have some kids step in and get some great experience.”

The Rams got wins from Tanner Maxwell (138), Trevor Anderson (145), Cole Fuoss (152), Jordan Renshaw (160), Brett Mower (170), Nick Gill (182) and Caleb Sanders (285).
