Rams sixth at Red Oak Invitational
RED OAK - The Glenwood girls placed sixth at the Red Oak Cross Country Invitational Monday at the Red Oak Country Club.
Griswold had the top individual place winner in Alyx Flipping but Harlan won the team title with four runners among the top 11 to edge the Tigers 47 to 49 in the standings.
The Rams finished with 119 points running without No. 1 runner Hayley Matthews, who sat out the race but will return for next Tuesday’s meet at Creston.
“I felt the girls competed well at Red Oak,” said Glenwood coach Brad Rasmussen. “We are still learning how to run a complete race, but we like the effort and attitude of the girls at Red Oak. We are still making improvements and adjustments with the team. The girls are responding with their efforts.”
Natalie Shearer was the Rams’ top place winner, running a 18:57 to place 16th. Jillian Finnegan was 21st with a time of 19:13.
Also placing for Glenwood was Danni Finn (26th), Grace Presley (30th), Jillian Manley (31st), Miranda Ruth (34th) and Ana Frazee (37th).
