Glenwood aces Clarinda, 6-3

    The Glenwood girls tennis team defeated Clarinda in Hawkeye 10 Conference tennis play on May 5.

    After dropping a tough 9-7 decision in their No. 1 singles match, the Rams got singles wins from Grace Newman, Montana Crow, Brittney Rodgers and Marley Chavez in the No. 2 through No. 5 matches to take a 4-2 lead in the doubles bracket.
    In the doubles, Rachel Tucker paired with Newman to avenge a singles loss in a 8-5 doubles win. Crow and Rodgers followed that up with a dual, sealing an 8-3 win over Hanna Davison and Morgan Hartley in the No. 2 doubles match.
    “Our doubles teams are really playing well right now and looking forward to the conference championships and district playoffs,” said Glenwood coach Jim Tucker.
