Velletta G. “Val” Coates, 74, Malvern

    Velletta Grace “Val” (Anderson) Coates, 74, of Malvern, passed away Jan. 6, 2012, in Omaha, Neb. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at Mansfield-Hertz Funeral Home in Malvern with interment in Malvern Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Southwest Iowa 8 or Mills County Public Health.
    Velletta is survived by children, Kevin Anderson of Glenwood, Cindy Carnes and Ronnie D. Coates, both of Malvern, Dianne Fritz of Tabor, Deanne Buffington of Pacific Junction, Michael Coates of Hastings, Michelle Study of Tabor, and Wendy Blackman of Malvern; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary Anderson and Butch Anderson; and sisters, Peg Bielfelt and Lillian Lind, all of Boone.
