Plattsmouth edges Glenwood at LC Invite

    Mark Abrams won his third meet of the season but Plattsmouth edged Glenwood in the team standings to prevent the Rams from doing the same at the Council Bluffs Lewis Central Invite on Saturday at Iowa Western Community College.

    Plattsmouth won the team title with 38 points to Glenwood’s 42.
    Abrams, who won top honors on the same course on Tuesday in the Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln Invitational, out-kicked Plattsmouth’s Justin Bruggemann over the final 200 meters with a time of 16:40, five seconds better than Bruggemann.
    Joining Abrams in the top 10 from Glenwood were Jeff Reeve (sixth place, 18:03), James Fuller (seventh place, 18:08) and Brady Wheeler (ninth place, 18:13).
    Plattsmouth also placed four runners in the top 10.

Rams win AL Invite
    The Glenwood boys cross country swept the top three spots to take home the team title at the rain-delayed Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln Invitational at Iowa Western Community College.
    The Rams’ Mark Abrams (17:30) cruised to a first place finish 31 seconds ahead of teammate James Fuller. Jeff Reeve was third with a time of 18:01.37. The individual title was Abrams’ second in as many meets.
    Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson was second with 44 team points.
    The Abraham Lincoln meet was scheduled for Aug. 27 but was delayed to Tuesday Sept. 6. The Rams were not originally scheduled to run in the meet but added it after a meet in Pella was rained out last weekend.
    Brady Wheeler placed seventh for Glenwood, followed by Jakob Rhodes in 19th place, Riley Townsend was 26th and Eli Kalambokidis 37th.
    The Ram junior varsity boys came home with a  team title of its own by scoring 26 points.
    Ryan Leu paced Glenwood with a second place finish. Freshman Cuentin Gray was third and  Daniel Leu was sixth followed by Pascal Oosterik in seventh and Colton Mc-Neel in 8th place.
