Spring Has Sprung, Right?

Spring officially arrived last week, but you’d never know it by the weather. In
southwest Iowa, the first week of spring meant snowfall on Thursday, snowfall on Friday and
snowfall on Saturday.

Friday morning’s snowfall created some picturesque scenes throughout
Mills County. In these photos, snow covers the trees and a retired Burlington-Northern Railroad caboose at Glenwood Lake Park, the statue of a firefighter at the Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department Memorial and a row of trees on Chestnut Street in Glenwood.
Most of the snow was melted by the end of the weekend and true spring-like temperatures in the 50s and low 60s are in the forecast for later this week.
