Altered Route For Glenwood Homecoming Parade Finalized

The Glenwood Homecoming Parade Committee has finalized the altered route for the 2025 parade on Friday, Oct. 3.
The parade route is being altered this year because of concerns about the integrity of a building at 14 N. Walnut Street on the west side of Town Square.
Homecoming parade organizers have been in discussions with city and county officials to determine a route that would keep the parade on Town Square but remove the one-block stretch of Walnut Street between First and Sharp.
The parade will begin on the northwest corner of Town Square and proceed east on First Street, south on Vine Street, west on Sharp Street, south on Walnut Street and east on Coolidge Street.
The route chosen is the same distance as the previous route. The judges’ stand and one announcer will be on the northeast corner of the square at First and Vine. A second announcer will be on the southwest corner of the square at the intersection of Sharp and Walnut.
Third, Second and First Streets will be closed between Walnut and Chestnut for parade line-up beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday.
Sharp and Coolidge Streets will be closed between Walnut and Chestnut for the parade.
Fourth Street will remain open all day to accommodate local traffic.
