Mary Ellen Kopp, 85, of Malvern

Mary Ellen Kopp, 85, of Malvern, formerly of Council Bluffs, died Nov. 2, 2009, in Council Bluffs. Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood. Pastor Darrell Hopp officiated. Interment was in the Glenwood Cemetery.

    She was born on May 3, 1924, in Pickering, Mo., to Ray and Nellie Gertrude (Watson) Lincoln.  She graduated from Malvern High School in 1943, and was united in marriage to William Wesley Kopp on Nov. 27, 1952, in Malvern. Mrs. Kopp was employed with Pendleton Woolen Mills as a supervisor for 36 years until her retirement. Following her parents’ death, she went to Pickering to decorate their graves each year. She was devoted to her family. She was also a loyal Yankees fan and was especially fond of Larry Bird and Robert Mitchum. She and her husband enjoyed attending all of the College World Series games as long as they were able.

    Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Bill on March 23, 2007; brothers, Paul and Ray Lincoln and sisters, Gertrude Rice; and Wilma Kuhlenbeck. She is survived by her family, John and Cindy Sayers of Malvern and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended relatives and a host of friends.

    Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, Glenwood.
