Mary Ellen Etherington, age 86, of Glenwood

Mary Ellen Etherington, age 86, of Glenwood, entered into eternal rest on March 12, 2010, at Glen Haven Home in Glenwood. Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at the Glenwood Cemetery. Pastor Howard Green officiated.

    She was born April 2, 1923, in Mills County to Earl and Stella (Hyde) Etherington. She was a lifelong area resident who was devoted to her family and her jobs. Her last place of employment was at the Glenwood State School, which she loved so very much and worked until age 70.

    Preceding Ms. Etherington in death were her parents; sister, Dorothy Louise Lewis; brothers, Lewis, Harley, Earl (Alfred) and Ralph. She is survived by her sister, Hazel Prindle; and brother, Clifford both of Glenwood; sister-in-law, Dorothy Etherington of Iowa City, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Memorials may be made to the Glen Haven Home, Glenwood. Peterson Mortuary of Glenwood was in charge of arrangements.
