Mariann D. Gregory, age 97 of Tabor

Mariann D. Gregory, age 97 of Tabor, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Hillcrest Country Estates in Papillion, Neb., following an extended illness. Funeral services were held  Nov. 7, 2009, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Tabor. Rev. Tom Clark and Ms. Pat VanScyoc officiated. Interment was in the Tabor Cemetery.

    She was born May 29, 1912, in Randolph, to James Oliver (Ollie) Driskell and Clara (Boeckenhauer) Driskell and was a graduate of Stephens College in Columbia, Mo.  On Aug. 28, 1934, she was married to Warren G. Gregory in Randolph.  She was a member of the Tabor First Congregational United Church of Christ, Congregational Women’s Fellowship, and a 65-year member of P.E.O. Chapter GG of Tabor.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren G. Gregory; infant brother, Elmer Driskell; and brother, Elgin Driskell.  She is survived by three sons, David Gregory and wife Janet; Jim Gregory and wife Sandra all of Tabor; and Grant Gregory and wife Karen of Greenwich, Conn.; Nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

    A memorial fund has been established. Crawford-Marshall Funeral Home of Tabor was in charge of arrangements.
