Knights smack 15 hits in back-to-back home wins

Fremont-Mills broke open a 4-4 game with seven runs combined in the third and four innings in a 12-5 victory over Essex in Corner Conference baseball Friday in Tabor.

For the second straight game, the Knights (6-10) recorded 15 hits. Sophie Murphy and Tori Kilpatrick each went 3-for-4 and drove in runs. Taylor Morgan, Kendall Reed and Sophie Phillips added two hits each.

Taylor was the winner in the circle. The freshman struck out three and did not allow an earned run.

C.B. St. Albert 5

Fremont-Mills smacked 15 hits and rallied from 6-1 deficit to down Council Bluffs St. Albert 13-7 on Thursday in Tabor.

The Knights’ offense was led by Kendall Reed’s 4-for-4 night. Sophie Murphy and Tori Kilpatrick each added three hits.

Kilpatrick doubled, drove in four runs and stole three bases.

Reed earned the win in the circle. The sophomore scattered 13 hits and six earned runs while fanning six.

Fremont-Mills 0

For the second straight game, the Fremont-Mills offense struggled in a lopsided road loss.

Sidney’s Camryn McClintock allowed just three hits and struck out four in a 14-0, three inning victory over the Knights.

The Cowgirls (10-3) plated six runs in the first inning and finished with eight hits.

Taylor Morgan led Fremont-Mills with two hits and Elizabeth Bartles added a single.

Kendall Reed allowed six hits and seven earned runs to take the loss in the circle.

Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson’s Jenna Midkiff allowed just two hits and struck our seven in a 10-0 softball victory over Fremont-Mills last Monday.

The Knights (4-10) got singles from Sophie Murphy and Sophie Phillips in the road loss.

Kendall Reed, in her first start of the season for Fremont-Mills, took the loss in the circle. The sophomore gave up seven hits and four earned runs in her debut.

Midkiff helped her own cause at the plate for the Yellowjackets, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
