Helen L. Griffiths, 92, Pacific Junction

March 15, 1918 - October 11, 2010

    Helen Lucille (Kuhl) Griffiths, 92, of Pacific Junction, formerly of Glenwood, entered into eternal rest on Oct. 11, 2010, in Omaha, Neb. Funeral services were held at Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010. Pastor Mike Stevens officiated. Interment was in the Glenwood Cemetery.  A memorial fund has been established.
    She was born March 15, 1918, in rural Pacific Junction, to James William “J.W.” and Blanche Ruth (Lee) Kuhl. Helen graduated as valedictorian from Pacific Junction High School in 1935, and this year was her 75th class reunion. She was employed with the Martin Bomber Plant during WW II. Helen also worked for Western Electric in both Lincoln and Omaha and later in the dietary department for Hillside Manor and Glenwood Resource Center until her retirement in 1978. Following her retirement, she took care of her mother. Helen was a devoted member of the First Christian Church in Glenwood. She taught Sunday School, enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Helen loved going out to eat and especially loved fried chicken, Milky Way candy bars and loved her coffee throughout the day. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
    Preceding Helen in death were her parents, infant daughter, Lucille Marie Griffiths, one sister and one brother. She is survived by her daughter, Doris and husband Danny Marsh of Pacific Junction; grandchildren, Richard Barton and fiancée, Shannon Kennedy of Pacific Junction; Rachel and husband Jamie Davis of Bellevue, Neb.; great-grandchildren, Joshua Barton, Darian Davis and Logan Davis; longtime friend, Katherine (Birdsong) Brantz of Wyoming, Mich.; extended relatives and a host of friends.
