George Fraissinet, Sr., 82, Glenwood

April 16, 1930 - May 9, 2012

    George L. Fraissinet, Sr., 82, of Glenwood, died suddenly at his home on Wednesday, May 9, 2012. Recitation of the Rosary was Sunday, May 13 followed by visitation with the family at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel, Council Bluffs. Funeral Mass was Monday, May 14 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Glenwood. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Council Bluffs with military honors tendered by American Legion Post No. 2. The family will direct memorials.
    George was born April 16, 1930, in Miles City, Mont., to the late George C. and Florence E. (King) Fraissinet. He graduated Central High School, Omaha, Neb., in 1948 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. George was a crane operator for mor than 50 years, working out of Local 571, Operating Engineers International Union. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Kaufman Council No. 6977, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and Local No. 571.
    George was preceded in death in 2005 by his wife, Marcella R. (Westemeier) Fraissinet, whom he married Dec. 13, 1985. He is survived by his children, George Fraissinet, Jr., John L. Fraissinet, Deena Funk and Beth Ann Herhold; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
