Fremont-Mills sweeps Wolverines
Fremont-Mills used its aggressive attack to sweep East Mills 25-3, 25-10, 25-14 in Corner Conference volleyball last Tuesday.
The Knights (9-1 overall, 3-0 in the conference) had 26 kills in the three games to the Wolverines’ 10.
Lynde Madison and Melissa Kesterson each had six kills and Mindy Lorimor added five to lead Fremont-Mills.
Kendall Fichter added 18 assists and five aces. Amy Carlson chipped in seven aces.
Amanda Bazer led the Wolverines (0-11 overall, 0-3 in the conference) with four kills.
“Our serve receive really struggled with F-M’s strong serving,” said East Mills coach Connie Blank. “We improved every game and that was the best net play all year. We got a lot of touches on the ball.”
Jordan Jennings had eight digs and Shelby Sommerla nine.
Wolverines 0-3 at
East Union Tournament
The East Mills volleyball team dropped three games at the East Union Tournament on Sept. 18.
The Wolverines lost 21-12, 21-13 to Orient-Macksburg, 21-18, 21-10 to Lamoni and 21-13, 21-8 to host East Union.
Amanda Bazer had nine kills and five aces in the tournament.
Jordan Jennings contributed 17 assists.
Devin Laughlin hauled in seven digs.
