Frances M. Tighe, age 85, of Glenwood

    Frances M. Tighe, age 85, of Glenwood, died Aug. 11, 2009, in Silver City. Rosary recitation was held Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at the Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home in Council Bluffs. Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Aug. 14, at Holy Rosary Church in Glenwood with Father Don Bruck as celebrant. Interment was in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Council Bluffs.

    She was born in Honey Creek, on Dec. 4, 1923, to Chris and Mary (Christiansen) Larsen and graduated from Beebeetown High School in 1941. She married Francis Tighe in December 1944. Frances worked at Aermotor Company in Omaha for 10 years and lived in rural Neola for over 35 years, moving to Glenwood in 1994. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church, D.A.V. Auxiliary Col. Don Macrae No. 5.

    Mrs. Tighe was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis in 1994; brothers, Alvin and O.H. Larsen and granddaughter, Karyn Wrightson. She is survived by her son, Michael and fiance, Vicki Martens, of Neola; daughters, Rose Mary Schoening and husband Jim, of Silver City; Nancy Attey and husband Jim of Des Moines; and Donna Wrightson and husband Lyman of Blair, Neb.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Beulah Petersen of Fremont, Neb.; and brother, Doyle Larsen of Omaha.
