Edward A. Anglen, Sr., 69, of Pacific Junction, passed away Oct. 22, 2011 in Council Bluffs. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, at 2 p.m., at First Congregational U.C.C. in Glenwood. Rev. Gene Hilton will officiate. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Pacific Junction Fire and Rescue. Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood is in charge of the arrangements.
Ed was born May 31, 1942, in Marshall, Mo., to Ollie “Pete” and Jesse Bernice (Hellums) Anglen. He was united in marriage to Judy Wright Nov. 7, 1968. To this union two sons were born, Edward, Jr. and Dustin. In Ed’s earlier years, he loved to go fishing. After purchasing their home in Pacific Junction, he took great pride in taking care of his yard and garden. He had a green thumb and could make anything grow. Ed was employed with the railroad and later worked at the Glenwood Resource Center until his retirement in 2004. He was a former Pacific Junction City Council Member, volunteer fire fighter for Pacific Junction for 25 years and attended the First Congregational U.C.C.
Preceding Ed in death were his parents. He is survived by his wife, Judy Anglen of Pacific Junction; sons, Edward Anglen, Jr. of Glenwood; Dustin Anglen of Pacific Junction; granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Jessica Anglen; grandson, Colton Krewson; brothers, Jerry Anglen of Ariz.; Walter Anglen of Glenwood; Ralph Anglen of Malvern; sisters, Doris Wilson of Council Bluffs; Margaret Baucom of Pacific Junction, and Phyllis Lundvall of Springfield, Mo.; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends.
