The Piano Lesson On Stage At Omaha Community Playhouse

The Piano Lesson runs through Feb. 8 at the Omaha Community Playhouse.

The Omaha Community Playhouse (OCP) is presenting August Wilson's acclaimed masterpiece, The Piano Lesson, which opened Jan. 16, and runs through Feb 8.
Vincent Orduña directs this gripping and powerful drama, winner of the Pulitzer Prize.
Set in 1936 Pittsburgh in the aftermath of the Great Depression, The Piano Lesson tells the story of Berniece and her brother Boy Willie, who clash over the fate of an heirloom piano, symbolizing the family’s painful history. The piano serves as the focal point for the play's examination of heritage, sacrifice, generational conflict, and the tension between honoring history and the pursuit of prosperity.
The Piano Lesson is the fourth in August Wilson’s The American Century Cycle of plays.
The production features a talented ensemble cast, including Faushia Raquel Weeden as Berniece and Brandon Williams as Boy Willie, along with an exceptional creative team that brings Wilson’s evocative language and emotional depth to life.
