Comic book coming to life at Glenwood library

A comic book is coming to life at the Glenwood Public Library.

More than a dozen members of the Teen Advisory group are creating the book, which is expected to be completed in December.

Each Teen Advisory member is drawing his or her own page with a specific theme.
Sarah Clayton’s page in the book is about a potato that kidnapped a carrot princess and the other carrots in her kingdom are rallying to rescue her.

Kalaya Morrison’s page highlights the adventures of an evil spoon and his best friend who happens to be a gorilla.
Makenzie Woods has completed her page about student heroes who go undercover to teach other students how to speak up and stop bullying.

“We want to explode their imaginations,” youth services librarian Wendy Miller said. “The comic book idea came from our summer reading program and Teen Advisory took it from there.”
