Claudia Stanley, 76, Escondido, Calif.

Claudia Carolyn Case Stanley, age 76, of Escondido, Calif. died Dec. 3, 2008. Following a private burial, family and friends will be greeted from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 27 at Grace United Methodist Church in Glenwood, to celebrate Mrs. Stanley’s life.

She was born in Sidney on Oct. 27, 1932, to Cecil Claude Case and Delores Elaine Briley Case. After graduating from Thurman High School, she continued her education at Doane College and Peru State College. She married James Dale Stanley on Dec. 30, 1951. They had three children, Christopher, Tina, and Brian.

She was employed by the J.C. Penney Corp. in the Omaha area and transferred to Escondido in 1985. After retirement and until her death, Mrs. Stanley continued to stay active by working at Redwood Terrace Senior Community in Escondido. She was known for her quick wit, extreme generosity, and willingness to help other people throughout her life. Affectionately known as “Grammy” to her grandchildren, she will always be loved and missed.

She is survived by her three children Christopher and wife Linda Stanley of Fallbrook, Calif.; Tina Stanley Beardmore of Tucson, Ariz.; and Brian and Heidi Stanley of Glenwood; and her brother. Dr. Cecil C. Case of Omaha; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
