Clarence L. Schmidt, 83, Olpe, Kan.

    Clarence L. Schmidt, 83, of Olpe, Kan., passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011, at his home. The Mass of Christian Burial was held April 11, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Anthony C. Williams was the celebrant. A private burial was held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the St. Joseph Catholic School in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Emporia, Kan. 66801.
    He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Schmidt; children, Deanna Burton, Jeff Schmidt and Glen Schmidt of Emporia, Doug Schmidt and Charlotte Coble of Olpe and Judy Andersen of Glenwood; sisters Leonarda Henderson and Lillian Spellman of Emporia, Corrine Frizell of Olpe and Ida Lynn Haag of Topeka; brothers Kenneth Schmidt, Duane Schmidt and Daniel Schmidt all of Olpe; 17 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
