Barbara (Hul)l Edwards, age 96, of Omaha

    Barbara (Hull) Edwards, age 96, of Omaha, formerly of Glenwood, died Oct. 14, 2009, at Bickford Cottage in Omaha. Services were held at Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009. Pastor Paul Marine officiated. Interment was in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha,

    She was born March 24, 1913, in Hepburn, to Carl Victor (C.V.) and Maud Edith (Stuart) Hull. She was united in marriage to Don George Edwards on April 2, 1929, in Glenwood. She had an interesting job in the early 1950s and 60s of tracking aircraft from a tower north of Glenwood as they approached Offutt Air Force Base. She became the owner of Cathryn’s Style Shop in Glenwood until the mid 1970s. Following her retirement, she commented on how she was going to read every book of her interests in the Glenwood Public Library and it was thought that she accomplished this goal. Along with her love for reading, she enjoyed fishing, counted cross-stitch, feeding the birds and squirrels and nature walking at the Glenwood Lake Park. Her family was very special to her and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

    Preceding Mrs. Edwards in death were her parents; husband; son, Philip Edwards in 2002; five sisters; and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Dona and husband Don Wilson of Omaha; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
