  • Williams, Fremont-Mills hot in...

        Macy Williams scored 22 points and Taryn Williams 11 for the Fremont-Mills girls basketball team in a 60-25 victory over Heartland Christian last Tuesday.
        The Knights dominated from the opening tip with a 20-2 run to start the game. Fremont-Mills also held a 41-22 rebounding edge and limited the Eagles to 27 percent shooting (10-of-37).
        Macy Williams made 10-of-15 shots, dished out six assists and grabbed five steals.

  • Blue Devils edge East Mills

        The Nishnabotna girls basketball team edged East Mills 33-26 in Corner Conference basketball Friday.
        The Wolverines (0-4) got eight points from Devin Laughlin and six from Amanda Hatcher.
        Katie Sowers chipped in with five points, six rebounds and three assists.

        The East Mills girls basketball team struggled shooting the ball in a 47-22 loss to Underwood on Thursday.

  • Wolverines 2-0 after 65-41 win

        The East Mills boys basketball team won their second straight game in convincing fashion to open the season with a 65-41 victory over Nishnabotna on Friday.
        Luke Schafer led a balanced scoring effort for the Wolverines (2-0 overall, 1-0 in the Corner Conference) with 14 points. Kaleb Richter and Pierre Bassich added 10 points each with Daniel Duysen and Colden Hillyer chipping in with nine and eight points each, respectively. Hillyer also pulled down seven rebounds.

  • Glenwood girls 3-0 after 71-29...

        The Glenwood girls sprinted out to a 26-0 first quarter lead and never looked back in a 71-29 Hawkeye 10 Conference victory over Atlantic on Friday.
        Glenwood improved to 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in conference.

    OMAHA – Jace Peters admits he’s having the time of his life playing college soccer for the team he idolized as a youngster growing up in Glenwood.

     “I guess you could say it has always been a dream to play at Creighton,” Peters said during an interview last weekend. “I watched plenty of Creighton soccer games before I was ever on the team. Being around this area and playing club soccer in Omaha, you get to know the program.”
