        The Fremont-Mills volleyball team swept Sidney 25-18, 27-25, 25-9 in Corner Conference volleyball last Tuesday.
        The Knights improve to 10-8 overall and 3-2 in the conference with the win.

  • Glenwood harriers strong at...

        Mark Abrams stayed perfect on the year and the Glenwood boys once again nipped Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson for the team title at the Shenandoah Invitational on Thursday.
        Glenwood finished on top of the team standings with 44 points to Thomas Jefferson's 42 points. The Rams edged T.J. by a single point at the Harlan Invitational on Sept. 24.
        Mark Abrams ran away with his fifth meet title in as many tries with a time of 16:43. Cade Cleaveland of Riverside was second with a time of 17:04.

  • Kuemper hands Rams conference...

        Glenwood lost a 14-25, 25-20, 18-25, 23-25 decision to Kuemper Catholic in Hawkeye 10 Conference volleyball on Thursday.
        “We played at a higher level tonight than we did on Tuesday,” said Glenwood coach Kara Huisman. “We gave ourselves a chance to win but just didn't finish. If we continue to play at the speed we did tonight, we will continue to get better and the wins will come."
        Glenwood (6-11 overall, 0-5 in the conference) was led by Morgan Lucy with 15 kills and four blocks.

        RED OAK - The Glenwood Rams put a damper on the Red Oak High School’s Homecoming by defeating the Red Oak Tigers in 3A District 1 action, 35-14.

  • Knights rumble through Villisca

        The Fremont-Mills football team scored early, often and about every way possible in a 78-6 victory over Villisca on Friday.
        The Knights (5-0 overall, 3-0 in Eight-man, District 1) got kick off and punt returns for touchdowns by Josh Larsen, a fumble return for a score by Seth Phillips, a pair of touchdown passes by A.J. Scarborough and rushing touchdowns by Nate Meier, Spencer Phillips, Gabe Scarborough and Clayton Wilson in the 72-point rout.

  • Wolverines go 1-3 at Bedford...

        The East Mills volleyball team went 1-3 at the Bedford Tournament on Saturday.
        The Wolverines lost their first three matches to the host Bulldogs 21-7, 21-15, Villisca 21-15, 21-14 and Lamoni 9-21, 21-14, 8-15 before defeating Walnut 21-13, 12-21, 15-11 in the tournament capper.

        “We came out with a lot of enthusiasm and played our best match of the day,” said Connie Viner-Blank of her team’s lone win at Bedford.

  • Abrams, Rams win Harlan invite

        Mark Abrams was first and James Fuller was fourth for the Glenwood cross country team as the Rams edged Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson at the Harlan Invite on Saturday.
        Abrams’ time of 16:56 was five seconds ahead of Fuller.
        Glenwood finished with 51 points to T.J.’s 52 points.
        Jeff Reeve added a sixth place finish for Glenwood.

        Luke Schafer threw for six touchdowns and the East Mills offense ground out 527 total yards in a 57-10 rout of Woodbine on Friday in Eight-man, District 1 football.
        The state ranked No. 4 Wolverines improve to 5-0 on the season and 3-0 in the district.

        The Glenwood football couldn’t hold to a 7-6 halftime lead as Atlantic scored on two big play touchdowns in the final two quarters to pull away for a 20-7 victory on Homecoming night in Glenwood.

        COUNCIL BLUFFS - The Glenwood defense couldn’t contain the all-purpose running of Council Bluffs Lewis Central’s Alex Reed and never found its own rhythm on offense in a 35-0 loss to the Titans on Friday.
