“We ran well tonight on a brand-new course against the always tough Hawkeye-10 competition. We had so many girls run their season best times and several who ran their all-time bests. It was an incredible night with a lot to celebrate.”

Behind Kevin Coots’ top individual time of 16:04, the Council Bluffs Lewis Central boys won the team with a score of 28. The Tigers’ were second with 95 points.

The Glenwood boys finished eighth with 179 points.

Josh Leu led the Rams with a 19th place finish time of 18:21. Bryce Keller was 25th, Cody Henderson was 34th, Grant Sorensen was 46th and Jack Smithers finished 55th to complete Glenwood’s scoring.

Both the Glenwood girls and boys head to Harlan Wednesday for the State Qualifying meet at the Harlan Golf and Country Club.

Our girls love the Harlan course, so they’re excited and ready to go,” Klindt said. “It’s the point in the season where a lot of our girls are tired and have some aches and pains here and there, but we’re in a good place as a team.”
