        Dustin Wayne Griffin, Pacific Junction – third-degree burglary, fourth-degree theft, fourth-degree criminal mischief, pleaded guilty, jail sentences suspended, two years probation, ordered to obtain G.E.D., pay victim restitution, court costs and fees.

        Cerisa I. Hall, Tabor – public consumption / intoxication, pleaded guilty, ordered to pay $65 fine, court costs and fees.

  • Moore’s four goals lead Rams in win

        Michaela Moore scored four goals and the Glenwood girls soccer team improved to 4-0 on the season with a 5-1 victory over Harlan in Hawkeye 10 Conference soccer on Friday.

  • Rain dampens Rams at Sioux City Relays

        In a meet shortened by lightning and potential serious weather approaching, the Glenwood boys track team was able to get through just nine of 15 events at the Sioux City Relays on Saturday at Morningside College. 

        The Rams got gold medals from Derek Jones in the 400-meter low hurdles and from their shuttle hurdle relay team of Sam Jameson, Dane Kruse, Kyle Bowden and Mitch Bowden.  In all, Glenwood placed in five of the nine events.

  • Albert resigns as Glenwood football coach

        Brian Albert has resigned as Glenwood Community High School football coach.

  • WEDDING - Alana Unger / Austin Fredrickson

    Alana Unger and Austin Fredrickson, both of Glenwood, exchanged wedding vows in Negril, Jamaica, on Feb. 25, 2012.

        The bride is the daughter of Rick and Lynda Unger of Glenwood. The groom is the son of Tony and Jody Fredrickson of Glenwood.
        Alexis Unger, sister of the bride, served as the maid of honor. The best man was Josh Fredrickson, brother of the groom.
        A June 16 wedding reception is being planned.

  • Jail Bond Issue Vote Likely

        It’s extremely likely Mills County residents will be asked to approve a bond issue Aug. 7, possibly for $6.2 - $6.5 million, for the construction of a new law enforcement facility that would house the county sheriff’s office and jail.

  • Going . . . Going . . . Gone

    MINEOLA - A building that housed a century of memories for the German community of Mineola disappeared from Main Street last Tuesday. The demolition of the Mineola Community Building took just three hours.

        “It’s kind of hard to see it go, but I know it’s time for a new building,” lifelong Mineola resident Calvin Deitchler said.
