    Incidents
        Jan. 3 – Kyle O’Banion reported criminal mischief.
        Jan. 4 – Kum and Go of Glenwood reported a gas drive off.
        Jan. 18 – Anna Marasco of Glenwood reported  criminal mischief.

    Accidents
        Jan. 2 – A vehicle driven by William Stewart of Glenwood caught fire for unknown reasons near Fourth and Linn Streets. No injuries were reported.

     

      

  • Mills County Sheriff Reports 1/29/14

    Incident
        Jan. 13 – Stephanie Reichart of Carson re-
    ported a criminal mischief.

    Accidents
        Dec. 19 – Bret Sheppard of Malvern was traveling east on Highway 34 when the driver lost control due to icy road conditions and struck a second vehicle driven by Charles Edwards of Shenandoah. No injuries were reported.

  • Mills County District Court 1/29/14

    Judge Greg Steensland
        Thomas M. Anderson, Glenwood – operating a motor vehicle with an expired license, pleaded guilty, ordered to pay $50 fine, court costs and fees.
        Chasity Rae Anway, Council Bluffs – unlawful possession of a prescription drug, pleaded guilty, deferred judgment, one year probation, ordered to undergo substance evaluation, pay, court costs and fees.

    TABOR - The year was 1967.

    It was the “Summer of Love,” “To Sir With Love” by Lulu was on top of the pop charts and “Bonanza” was the top rated TV show.

    It also happens to be the same year the Fremont-Mills girls basketball team last played in the Corner Conference Tournament title game.

  • Accidental Shooting On West Elementary School Playground Results In Felony Charge

    A Glenwood man who accidentally shot himself in the leg on the playground parking lot at West Elementary School Friday afternoon has been charged with carrying a weapon on school grounds, a Class D felony, punishable by up to five years in prison and/or a fine of between $750-$7,500.

  • Former Officer, Mayoral Candidate Injured In Accidental Shooting At West Elementary Playground Friday

    Former Glenwood police officer and 2013 Glenwood mayoral candidate Douglas Trent Good has been identified as the man who sustained an accidental, self-inflicted gunshot wound to the leg while waiting in a vehicle for a child in the lower playground parking lot of West Elementary School Friday afternoon. Good was transported from the scene to a metro area hospital by Glenwood Rescue. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Good is a certified firearms instructor, providing gun handling instruction to individuals seeking a permit to carry.

  • ENGAGEMENT - Valeria Kishkunas/Colin Smith

    Valeria Kishkunas and Colin Smith of Decorah have announced their engagement.

    Valeria is the daughter of the late Lynn Kishkunas of Cleveland, Ohio, the late Louis Kiskunas of Lebanon, Mo., and granddaughter of the late Louis and Ellen Kishkunas of Glenwood.

    Colin is the son of Patrick and Toni Smith of Decorah.

    Valeria is a graduate of University of Northern Iowa with a  mastr’s degree of music in vocal performance. 

  • Bones Found At Fire Scene

    The Council Bluffs Police Department confirmed Wednesday bones were found at the scene of a New Year's Eve fire in Mills County and investigators are trying to detemine if the bones belong to a missing Council Bluffs man, 26-year-old Travis Bach.
