  • Glenwood wins team title at Wolverine Relays

    The Glenwood boys track team opened the outdoor season by winning the team title at the Wolverine Relays at Olsen Stadium in Sioux City Saturday.

    The Rams’ edged Brandon Valley, S.D. 118.5 to 113 points in the team standings to earn their first team title of the season.

  • Glenwood High School principal abruptly resigns

    GLENWOOD – A new principal hired less than a year ago who was predicted to “do a great job at the high school” resigned Monday night after failing to meet his own expectations.

    Shane Stephens submitted the letter of resignation to the Glenwood School Board in a Special Board Meeting Monday, stating the decision was made with a “heavy heart yet clear mind.”

    Incidents
        March 18 – Michael Jones of Glenwood reported  a serious assault.
    Accidents
        March 15 – A vehicle driven by Lucas Jay of Glenwood jumped a curb and struck a retaining wall on South Locust street after the driver lost control while attempting to shut a door that had opened.

  • Mills County Sheriff Reports 3/26/14

    Incident
        March 18 – Nate Shirley of Glenwood reported a theft.
        March 11 – County Stone of Pacific Junction reported a burglary and theft.
    Accidents
        March 17 – A vehicle driven by Draven Ray of Glenwood was southbound on Hillman Road when the driver lost control on a curve, left the road and struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported.

  • Glenwood teen killed in Thursday crash recalled as ‘beloved’ student

    Tanner Porter had the smile to match the twinkle in his eyes.

    “Tanner was a very kind, kind young man,” said Glenwood Community High School guidance counselor Kathleen Loeffelbein. “He had a beautiful smile and this twinkle in his eye. He made other people’s day brighter. He was a beloved student. He knew a lot of people and touched so many people with his kindness.”

    Porter, 17, died Thursday at the University of Nebraska Medical Center following injuries he suffered in a one-vehicle accident north of Glenwood.

        Charles Campsey, II, Nebraska City – domestic abuse assault impeding air / blood flow, pleaded guilty, sentenced to jail time already served, ordered to pay $315 fine, court costs and fees.
