Splish Splash - Glenwood Aquatic Center Opens

The Glenwood Aquatic Center opened Monday afternoon to kick off the 2023 summer swimming season.

Walking on the lily pads and diving off the boards were popular activities at the aquatic center Monday.

Children and adults were waiting in line when the Glenwood Aquatic Center opened on Monday - the first day the facility has been open since Aug. 22, 2021.
“We made it,” Glenwood City Administrator Amber Farnan said. “The city council and mayor are as excited as everybody else to have the pool open.”
Water-loss issues kept the aquatic center from opening in 2022 and delayed the start of the 2023 swimming season. Repairs to stop the water loss were completed over the past several weeks.
“We want to give a big ‘thank you’ to Public Works for getting the pool open,” Farnan said.
On Monday it was business as usual at the aquatic center with young children running through the water splash area and maneuvering the lily pad course while older swimmers were diving off the boards and mingling with friends in the deeper end of the pool.
The facility’s hours and admission rates are posted on the city’s website. Season passes are available for purchase at City Hall.
