• Ready-Mix Rebuild

    Cohron Ready Mix plant has competed a $1.5 million “ground up” re-build of its Glenwood plant.

    The Glenwood plant, located along Vine Street and Railroad Avenue, opened in 1972. This is the first major overhaul at the plant since that original opening, said Steve McCracken, general manager of Cohron Ready Mix.

    “It's a completely new facility,” said McCracken.

  • Kenkel Family Chiropractic Moves Into New Office

    Dr. Mike Kenkel and his staff at Kenkel Family Chiropractic have moved into their new home at 407 Sharp St., on the south side of Glenwood Town Square.

    Kenkel, a Denison native, opened his new office on Jan. 5, three years and a one day after bringing his practice to Glenwood.

    “When I came to Glenwood, my goal was to move into a new location within three years,” Kenkel said. “I opened on Jan. 4, 2006, and we moved in here on Jan. 5. It’s been our patients that have made this possible. They’ve been very supportive.”

  • Collinson Is New Firestone Manager

    Tom Collinson was recently named the new store manager at Glenwood Firestone.

    Collinson comes to Firestone with 24 years of experience in the automotive industry. He is currently a resident of Council Bluffs, but has worked and lived in Alaska.

    Collinson is an active member of his church, serving as both an elder and praise team leader. He is a six-season member of the Southwest Iowa Men’s Chorus. He and his wife share five children and five grandchildren.

  • Still A Community Bank

    TABOR – First State Bank of Tabor is under new ownership, but customers won’t notice any changes in the day-to-day operations of the long-standing financial institution. The bank was acquired on April 14 by Glenwood Bancorporation, the holding company for Glenwood State Bank.

  • New staff pharmacist at Ruffner Pharmacy

    Mandy Leick is the new staff pharmacist at Ruffner Pharmacy in Glenwood. Ms. Leick is married to Cory Leick of Glenwood and is the daughter of Don and Lana Duysen of Glenwood.

    She’s a graduate of Glenwood Community High School and Bellevue University with a bachelor of science degree. She later graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy with a PharmD degree.

    Prior to joining the staff at Ruffner Pharmacy, Ms. Leick was the manager of the HyVee pharmacy in Council Bluffs.
