MCPH offering wait list for COVID-19 vaccines

Mills County Public Health is accepting names of eligible individuals to be placed on a wait list for the next round of COVID-19 vaccinations.

The Iowa Department of Public Health issued guidelines this week that vaccinations will be available to Phase 1B population beginning no later than Feb. 1. MCPH expects vaccinations to be authorized for distribution Feb. 1 but does not guarantee the vaccine will be available to every individual on the list that day.

Phase 1B individuals include any person over age 75, first responders, pre-K through 12 school staff, early childhood educators and childcare workers, staff or anyone living in a congregate setting, inspectors responsible for health or safety and government officials in state business during legislative sessions.

To be included on the wait list, individuals meeting the Phase 1B criteria may call 712- 274-3643. The line will be open Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
