Five Wolverines in double-figures in win

    East Mills had five players score in double-figures in a 86-43 rout of Heartland Christian in Corner Conference boys basketball on Friday.
    Keegan Wederquist led East Mills (4-2 overall, 4-1 in the conference) with 18 points while Colden Hillyer added 13, Joseph VanSant 14, Jacob Schafer 11 and Logan Currin 10.
    The Wolverines shot a blistering 57.3 percent from the field (36-of-61) and recorded 26 steals on defense.
    Devin Kopera and Gabe Claar paced Heartland Christian with eight points each.

Fremont-Mills 49
    East Mills edged Fremont-Mills 54-49 in a back-and-forth Corner Conference boys basketball match-up last Tuesday.
    The Wolverines led by five at halftime but traded the lead and ties with the Knights several times in the second half before pulling away.
    Colden Hillyer led the Wolverines with 17 points. Jacob Schafer added 16 points and Joseph VanSant 13.
    Dakota Thomas paced the Knights with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Clayton Wilson added 10 points and seven boards.
